Volunteers of the Cranford First Aid Squad (CFAS) are on-call from 6:30 PM to 5:30 AM on weekdays and 24 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday. The Squad responds to all medical emergencies occurring within the regional lines, performs standbys at fire scenes and town events, and serves as back-up (mutual aid) to neighboring towns.
MEMBERS WANTED!
Requirements: strong desire to help others, willingness to learn and follow squad rules, sense of humor, reliable, and responsible. RESIDENCY NOT REQUIRED.
Three Types of Membership:
1) Cadets – students 16 to 18 years of age
2) Riding Members – perform first aid and are EMT-certified
3) Associates – provide support services to the Squad
Training: Training will be provided with no cost to the member. A riding member undergoes at least 120 hours of training to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
